Detail of the tourThe name Royal route comes from coronation of the Czech kings. The historical path can’t be missed by anyone walking in the historical centre of Prague. It is marked by a silver arrow that you can see on the sidewalk. Your guide will pick you up in your hotel and take you by public transport or a vehicle of your choice to the Powder tower where the Royal route starts. From the Powder tower you enter Celetná street, one of the oldest Prague streets, where you will see beautiful historical houses decorated with house symbols and facades. There are many souvenir shops selling Czech products such as amber, garnet, porcelain, wooden toys and marionettes, painted glass and world famous Bohemian crystal. Then your steps will lead into the oldest square in Prague called the Old Town Square (Staromestske namesti). Don´t miss here the famous Astronomical Clock from the 15th century, it is a must. Each hour crowds of people are waiting for a special show. (9am-9pm) In the Old town square you can also admire the Town hall, gothic Tyn Church, barock St Nicholas Church, Golz – Kinsky palace, House at the Stone Bell, Jan Hus monument and other interesting old buildings. Passing through the Small square you will continue to Karlova street to the famous Charles Bridge. Charles bridge is the oldest bridge in Prague decorated by barock statues. It is really a romantic and magical place. On the Charles bridge don´t forget to make a wish and touch the statue of St. John of Nepomuk (you can’t miss it, you will notice the line of tourists waiting for this) From the Charles Bridge you will continue to Mostecká street up to LesserTown Square. The main feature of this square is St Nicholas church , where Mozart played the organ during his stay in Prague. Then you continue to Nerudova Street, another magnificent place of historical Prague. The old path ends at the Prague Castle with a splendid view over Prague. After exploring the Prague Castle your guide will make sure you know the way back to your hotel or can accompany you anywhere you need to go.
