Detail of the tour45 km south-east of Prague, founded in 13th century, reconstructed in the 19th century when it was the last residence of the succesor to the Habsburg throne, Archduke Franz Ferdinand d´Este, whose assasination in 1914 in Sarajevo started Word War I. With an amazing interior, including a world famous collection of hunting trophies, weapons and furniture. The Chateau is surrounded by beautiful spacious gardens and parks. Your guide will pick you up in your hotel together with your chauffeur and a car of your preference. The journey to Konopiště lasts about 50 minutes. During this time your guide will give inform you about Konopiště and enchant you with the history of our country. Konopiště is situated on a scenic hill. You can walk (cca 10 minutes from the parking) or go by a historic train or a veteran car. Passing amazing gardens you will get to the main entrace where your guide will buy your tickets and then you start a 1hour tour through the castle with a local guide. During the tour you will see a fascinating collection of furniture, weapons, hunting trophies and other objects of art. After the tour you will have time to walk in the gardens and parks, visit the souvenirs shops or enjoy a cup of coffee. The tour ends in your hotel, or in the center of Prague if you prefer. |
